Show regulations

The shows are held according to the regulations of the Norwegian Kennel Club.

Hounds compete for a major Norwegian CAC given to the best hound of each sex that isn't already a Norwegian champion. The major CAC grants a Norwegian Champion title if the dog is already a champion in a foreign country.

Classes

Each hound is entered in one class only based on age and merit:

  • Puppy 4-6 months
  • Puppy 6-9 months
  • Junior class 9-18 months
  • Intermediate class 15-24 months
  • Working class (for hounds having achieved a Lure coursing certificate)
  • Open Class (for any hound 15 months or older)
  • Champion Class (for any hound that has achieved a championship acknowledged by FCI)
  • Veteran Class (for any hound 8 years or older)

There are two special classes where entries are allowed on the day:

  • Progeny class
The class is open for sire or dams competing with four of their offspring.
  • Breeders class
The class is open for groups of 4 dogs of the same breed, bred by the same person and/or under the same kennel name

On saturday the judges will nominate candidates for the unofficial classes of Best Movement and Best Head and expression. These classes will be judged jointly by the judges.
